ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our team and experience a rewarding work environment with skilled and supportive teammates. We are currently accepting resumes from organized and team-oriented individuals who are looking for a career as a Junior Accountant at our Calmont Leasing Location, Edmonton.

The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. Some of the job duties will include:

  • Preparing and processing journal entries.
  • Completing general ledger operations.
  • Assisting with month end and monthly financial statements.
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
  • Validate invoices for accuracy, general ledger coding and payment terms.
  • Correcting any errors that are found.
  • Assist with preparation and coordinator of the audit process.
  • Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Assist in creation of leases.
  • Managing commissions for sales team.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Administrative Support
  • Provide backup of accounting and administrative functions as required.

Desired Skill and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Commerce or Business Management/Administration an asset.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years of related financial and administrative experience or an Accounting degree.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills in order to work with wide number of people, including peers, subordinates, and other company departments and staff.
  • Strong customer service attitude and leadership to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Effective negotiation, persuasion, and listening skills to facilitate successful resolution of concerns.
  • Effective time management, decision making, planning and organizing skills.
  • Write legibly and possess excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Safety awareness and attitude.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning customer, employee, and financial information.
